"Katie is one of the most thoughtful and caring therapists I know. If you are looking to do deeper, exploratory therapeutic work, that also involves learning somatic resourcing, nervous system regulation, and present moment experiencing. I would strongly recommend working with Katie."
- Christine Adams, Psychotherapist Colleague
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if therapy will work?
My approach is unique in that our work will primarily focus on body-based (somatic), evidence-informed therapies. These are approaches to therapy that involve mind-body connection and have been validated by scientific research. Results cannot be guaranteed, and I will do my best to support you in meeting your goals.
What types of therapy do you offer?
I work with individual clients only, not couples. I see clients 16-40 years old.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
All therapy is conducted via Telehealth. I use HIPAA compliant telehealth software by Simple Practice, called, very aptly, Telehealth by Simple Practice. As a backup, I have a HIPAA compliant Zoom account.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I am in-network with Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, and other Optum plans. I only have a certain number of insurance based slots, so please check in if you are wanting to use insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Sessions not filed with insurance (private pay) are $178 for a 53-minute session. If you are using your insurance it will depend on your plan. We will verify your insurance before our first session.
How do I book a consult call with Katie?
Click on the “Book a Free Consultation” button. This will connect you directly to my schedule. Or you can book it here!
What happens during the free consultation?
The call will be via telephone and last 20 minutes. Our goal is to see if we are a good fit to move onto the first session.
It’ s good to come with any questions you have about what our work would look like. I’ll ask you some questions about what brings you to therapy, and what you are wanting out of therapy. At the end we will decide if we want to try a first session together.
Do you see people who don't live in Durham, North Carolina?
Yes! I can see clients living anywhere in North Carolina. This is the beauty of telehealth. If you are located outside of North Carolina, I encourage you to look for someone licensed in your state.
