I typically find myself working with:

Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach is rooted in Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Constructed Awareness, Interpersonal Therapy,  Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I believe in meeting my clients where they are at. I draw on the skills and principles in each model to approach each client individually where they are.

My practice endeavors to be anti-oppressive and balanced between focusing on the body and the mind. One of philosophies on therapy is that the client and the therapist bring an expertise into the room and therapy involves collaboratively using both sets of knowledge. I believe in creating a validating environment without judgment to create a space that invites self-exploration and openness.

Doing therapeutic work necessitates a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship between clinician and client. I believe we each bring in our own expertise to that relationship, my clients are the experts in themselves and me with the expertise in therapeutic process. A lot of my work is getting us to slow down and bring awareness to what is underneath the words, thoughts, and stories.

Insurance

I am in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare, and Optum plans. There are some small plan exceptions and in order to be sure of how much you will pay for sessions, your insurance will be verified before our initial session. Doing this gives us the best idea of how much you will pay. Sometimes these verifications are inaccurate. You are encouraged to check in with your insurance to ask about your payment responsibility. Please see the FAQ section for further information. I am out-of-network for all other insurances.

My out-of-pocket rate of $155 for 55-minute therapy sessions. Starting July, I will also reserve 20% of my caseload for reduced rate clients.
